Known far and wide beyond the reaches of her home in Ul'dah, she is a renowned Black Mage (and to those with ears in the underground, a prodigy in the knowledge of voidcraft magic).

Born in the year 1551 of the sixth astral era Freia de Derinloire is the second-born child of the Noble Elias de Derinloire, a Duskwight Elezen hailing from the City State of Ul’Dah. Born with an inherent natural disposition towards astral and umbral magics, the expectations of her Father were imparted unto her from a young age … Pushed and prodded to the brink of sanity, as a young teenager she was isolated and sealed away in order to forge and polish her to perfection.Suffering the abuses of her Father, her only hope for salvation and comfort came from Alvis, her elder brother. Having stolen away as often as he could to relieve her of the weight she was forced to bear, until her Father chose to seal her fate with ink … Forcing her to forgo a sacred ritual to bind her soul with magic, using similar techniques to the Mages who walked before her, Freia’s body was forcibly scribed with an ink crafted using the same astral aether that she had grown to command. And so it was that she became an empty, soul-crushed husk. Spending the remainder of her youth following the wisdom of her Father’s teachings, she found that not even her beloved brother could pull her from the brink that she had found herself upon …

With calamity on the star’s doorstep, however, her brother sought to make change. With his sister under the thumb of their Father, he left Ul’dah and followed the teachings of Louisoix Leveilleur with the hopes that he could find a way to provide a better life for Freia. But with the fall of meteor and the world of Etheirys devastated, Alvis de Derinloire was never to be seen again.The only reminder of his existence was a single tome, scribed with the same leftover inks that were once used to paint Freia herself.This tome, the records contained within, and the pressing memory of her Brother’s sacrifice soon became the only thing left that could pull Freia from the brink. Finally able to lift her head, despite her pain, she pulled away from her Father’s grasp… Departing from Ul’Dah and the shadow of her ancestors, in order to forge her own path anew.To live a life of her choosing, one that her Brother would have been proud of…

The first of two sisters, daughter of ravens - Ereshkigal, the Elder, was a protegee of the Former Seat of Emet-Selch. One who devoted life & practice to easing the burden of the living in their final days, a sort of nurse who served the weary, guiding souls on their path to rebirth. One who, with all of the passion and love in her heart, served only to love the people of her star with ever fiber of her being. She who, every waking night, sang gently to ease the troubles of the dying ... That they might find peace eternal, and continue the cycle of rebirth undisturbed.

The second of two sisters, with the grace of a morning dove - Inanna, the younger, was a protegee of the Former Seat of Fandaniel & a young woman who looked to the Former Seat of Azem, Venat, with nothing but the deepest of reverence. She had a respect & love for the living, those who walked the star, human or no - and who, with her every waking breath, sought to deliver peace unto the people of Etheirys. Whether it be through her research in Elpis, or through her travels in later life as a disciple of Azem ... All she lived for, all she knew, was an incredible love for her people & her sister most of all.

Once two, now one ... Blessed twins, souls intertwined - It would be in her travels that the younger of the sisters would meet her end, wracked by illness & madness. A very sudden demise, by a cause unknown - but her soul would not depart, for in a fit of her own despair the Elder sister sought to employ the use of forbidden magics. And thus two sisters became one - a desperate, taboo bid by one to cling to the other.No matter the consequences she might have faced for such forbidden acts...

Born in 1984 by Shinra employees Elias & Ophelia Liore former scientists on board with Project G, headed by Hollander. Her Father was once known to have had a close relationship with Hollander, going back further than their involvement with the Shinra Electric Power Company. Ophelia Liore, Freia's Mother, was an intern working under Hollander during the height of the research involving Project G. Dedicated wholly to their work on the project, their research was the center of their worlds and their marriage...
Until Ophelia accidentally accessed confidential notes belonging to Hollander, discovering the grim ethics of the JENOVA project. It would be not long after this that Ophelia discovered she was carrying her first child; information which prompted her to resign from her post at the company & abandon her marriage.
Regardless of her decision, she was still known to the company, who kept a watchful eye on both Mother & Child alike. With a deal struck between parties, Ophelia was declared deceased and her husband was kept under the thumb of the company, only to be later placed as a subordinate of Professor Hojo himself. Ophelia, meanwhile, was forced to live in Midgar's Sector 8 under the gaze of the company itself. Not permitted to leave the Sector, she raised her child in the relatively solitary confines of a tiny book shop...
